Corning Glass Museum: PREPARE TO BE AMAZED!

Today, Jake's parents graciously took Jake, Sofia and I to the Corning Glass Museum in Corning, NY. Not very far from campus.
The drive up. We saw lots of road kill and hawks!! Good stuff!

This place actually looked like a museum! Just like the Museum of Science back home. I was so happy to see a modern-looking building.

That's glass! Crazy.

I wonder how people make such incredible pieces with GLASS.

I like the deer in this one.

The colors remind me of Mexico.
This is a fish bowl! What a great idea.

Oooo.

I thought this one was cute.

Cortland apples, not bad

Hey y'all, just thought I'd let you know I had some Cortland apples the other day.

Cortland is the next town/county over Ithaca. I went to an organic dairy farm there.

Anyways, yeah. They were okay.

Locally grown apples! yeaaaaahhh!!!

Getting in the Halloween spirit

Cornell is getting into Halloween mode. I don't know what the "50" means, and I don't really care, but this is Mr. A. D. White (founder of that amazing library I showed you guys earlier). He's sitting with some pumpkins... and wearing a Cornell Hockey hat.

AWESOME!!! This is McGraw tower, the bell/clock tower. Here, the clock has turned into a jackolantern!!!!!
Reminds me of the Nightmare Before Christmas...
Fall is beautiful here. You should already know that by looking at the gazillion pictures I put up last week.

Climbing McGraw Tower!!!

Our list of "164 things to do before you graduate form Cornell" is getting a little shorter!

REALLY LOUD CHIMES.

Today Sofia, Jake and I climbed the 162 steps of McGraw's bell tower to get to the top. There, we heard the evening chimes concert at 6.
A view of Ho Plaza and Collegetown in the distance.
A view of Cayuga Lake and West campus, the upperclassmen dorms.
Look! Someone proposed :D
Some interesting architecture.

It was a nice day, no?
See? I'm fine. Stop worrying.

Thanks!

A former english teacher of mine sent me a lovely package of cookies!

They were delicious and were a godsend.

I picked up the surprise package at a time when I had barely eaten lunch and was worried about an animal science prelim exam I had to take later that day. I opened the package and there were COOKIES AND FUDGE!!!

I just had to share my happiness with all of you.

Thank you Ms. K!

And just so you know, I AM eating well. Don't worry. It was just one of those days when studying take up all the time you have in the day.

Ithaca Autumn: the suspension bridge!!!

The last part of our Sunday adventure was the visit the suspension bridge and gorge on west campus.

To get to West Campus, you need to go down Libe Slope. You don't want to go up this hill, trust me.
A chubby bird! A brown creeper.

Some bugs the Entomology Dept wanted. Jake collected them.

Finally! The suspension bridge. It doesnt shake very much unless people run across it.

There's Cayuga Lake, I think.
